WD: Summary Info Dialog Box Always Presented During Save

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, the Summary Info dialog box appears when you save a file if any information has changed in the document since you last saved your document. This will occur when the Prompt For Summary Info option is selected.

To avoid being presented with this dialog box, clear the Prompt For Summary Info option on the Save tab in the Preferences dialog box (on the Tools menu, click Preferences).

To turn off the Prompt for Summary Info option, use the following steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Preferences.

  2. Click the Save tab.

  3. Click to clear the Prompt For Document Properties check box.

  4. Click OK.

For more information about viewing Summary Information in Word 98, click Contents And Index on the Help menu, click the Index button in Word Help, type the following text

   File Properties, using

and then click Show Topics. Select the "Use file properties to manage files" topic, and click Go To. If you are unable to find the information you need, ask the Office Assistant.
