Word Version 6.xIn Word 6.x for the Macintosh, use the following steps to reset the spelling checker for previously ignored words:
Word Versions 5.0 and 5.1In Word 5.x for the Macintosh, the spelling checker has an Ignore option and an Ignore All option. "Ignore" ignores the currently flagged instance of the word, whereas "Ignore All" ignores all instances of the currently flagged word in the rest of the document. To reset the spelling checker so that it will forget the words that were skipped, click Cancel in the Spelling dialog box. To make the spelling checker remember ignored words, click the current document to edit the document rather than canceling the spelling checker. This keeps the Spelling window open but moves it behind other windows.
Word Versions 3.0x and 4.0In Word 3.x and 4.0 for the Macintosh, when you are checking the spelling of a document, if a word is flagged as misspelled and you accidentally choose the No Change button, Word remembers that the word was skipped and does not flag the same word as misspelled again. To reset the spelling check so that it will forget the words that were skipped, do the following:
