The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 4.0, 5.0, 5.1

SUMMARY

If the PostScript code used in Word for the Macintosh contains an error, the Apple LaserWriter may not return a PostScript error, it may just stop printing.

Note the following:

  1. Proper spacing is very important. To check for extra spaces, from the Edit menu, choose Show Paragraph. Any extra spaces must be removed.

  2. All lines must be in "PostScript" style.

  3. Blank lines between groups of code with a style assigned other than PostScript style cause an error or non-printing.

Routines called Error Dictionaries send a description of PostScript errors to the printer. Error Dictionaries are available from user groups.
