SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, if you set a vertical line tab outside a paragraph indent and use paragraph borders, gaps may appear in the vertical line. This behavior can also be observed in the following situations:
WORKAROUNDTo format a document with a border surrounding the text, you can use a table with four columns and borders instead. Borders on the outside of each column and box borders on the second and third columns produce a document that resembles a document formatted with paragraph borders and vertical tabs.
