Top Border of Paragraph Is Lost if Preceded by Two Page BreaksLast reviewed: July 30, 1997Article ID: Q68042 |
The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYIf you insert two page breaks immediately before a bordered paragraph in Word for Windows, the top border disappears. Note that with only one page break, the paragraph displays correctly. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows versions 1.0, 1.10 and 1.10a. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available. In Word for Windows 6.0, the paragraph and the two blank pages display correctly in Normal View, but not in Page Layout or Print Preview. In Page Layout and Print Preview, the second blank page appears with a small vertical black line on the left and right side of the page. These lines do not print, and the entire document will print correctly.
MORE INFORMATION
WorkaroundEnter some text between the two inserted page breaks and format the text as Hidden from the Format Character dialog box. In Word for Windows 6.0, insert a paragraph mark between the two page breaks.
Steps to Reproduce Problem
"Microsoft Word for Windows User's Reference." (Document Number OB 14328-0990) Pages 32-33 and 252.
