SUMMARY

When you are positioning a graphic in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh by using the Position command on the Format menu, you can precisely adjust the amount of white space bordering the graphic by entering a measurement in the Distance From Text box.

A much simpler and more direct method, which adjusts not only the amount of space to the right and left of the graphic, but also to the top and bottom, is to change the size of the graphic box. To do this, follow these steps:

Click the graphic.
Using the mouse, click the handle (the small black box) in the lower-right corner of the graphic.
Drag the graphic box to the size you want the white space to be.

Using the above instructions does not resize the graphic, but it does change the size of the bounding box for the graphic.
