The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you bring a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet into a Microsoft Word for Windows document using the Paste Link, Formatted Text (RTF), a blank paragraph is inserted above the table. The paragraph mark cannot be selected or deleted; however, the spacing can be reduced. The blank paragraph does not appear if you bring the spreadsheet into Word for Windows using the regular Paste command.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
WORKAROUNDTo reduce the spacing around the inserted paragraph, use the following steps:
