WD: MacWord Print Merge Ignores Paragraph Format in a Table CellLast reviewed: February 5, 1998Article ID: Q76099 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen paragraph formatting is applied within a cell of a Microsoft Word for the Macintosh data document, the print merge feature recognizes only the paragraph formatting associated with the last return.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, either remove paragraph formatting from the data document and include it in the main document, or replace all but the final return in the cell with newline characters (SHIFT+RETURN).
MORE INFORMATIONFor example, when the main document requires right-aligned text, and the correct alignment is applied to multiple paragraphs of a cell in the data document, only the last paragraph will be aligned correctly. By using newline characters or applying the indents to the main document, you can ensure that the entire field is indented.
