The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Word for Windows, if you choose the Use As Default button in the Character dialog box with the Bold option selected, the selected text is not formatted in bold.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Word for Windows listed above. We are researching this problem, and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONThe Use As Default button changes the default character style. To make the text bold, press CTRL+Q while the text is still selected.
