SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for Windows version 2.x and 6.0, the Find and Replace dialog boxes remain open after you complete a find and/or replace operation. You must choose the Cancel button to close these dialog boxes.

In Word for Windows versions 1.0 and 1.1, the Search and Replace dialog boxes disappear as soon as you complete a search and/or replace operation. If you want to perform additional Search or Replace operations, you must re-open the dialog box.

MORE INFORMATION

The Find and Replace dialog boxes in Word for Windows version 2.0 include a Find Next button that enables you to perform multiple Find or Replace operations without leaving the Find or Replace dialog box. When you finish using the Find or Replace dialog box, choose the Cancel button to close the dialog box.

This is a design feature in Word for Windows version 2.0. The functionality of this feature is not changeable.
