SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for Windows, when you click a tool bar button and hold down the left mouse button, Word displays the button's function on the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

The status bar information is retrieved from the Description box in the macro dialog box. If the dialog box syntax does not include a description, no description displays on the status bar when you hold down the left mouse button.
