SUMMARYIn Microsoft Word for Windows, if you use the Bullets and Numbering command to insert a bullet immediately after a column break, the last paragraph in the preceding column is bulleted. If you press ENTER before inserting the bullet, the correct paragraph is bulleted.
MORE INFORMATIONIf you type some text, insert a column break without pressing ENTER after the text, and then insert a bullet using the Bullets and Numbering command, Word for Windows treats the entire unit as a single paragraph and inserts the bullet at the start of the text preceding the column break. To work around this problem, do one of the following:
