SUMMARYThe DOC-path=(path) option in the WINWORD6.INI file ([Microsoft Word 2.0] section of the Microsoft Windows WIN.INI, in Word version 2.x) takes precedence over the Working Directory setting in the Program Item Properties dialog box (to access this dialog box, select the Word for Windows program icon and choose Properties from the File menu in Program Manager.)
CAUSEIn Word for Windows, you can specify the default directory for document storage using the DOC-path option. When you launch Word for Windows, this directory is the current directory. Use the following procedure to set the DOC-path option.
Word version 6.0 for Windows
Note: Versions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.1a of Word for Windows do not support the DOC-path option. For more information the Working Directory setting in the Windows Program Manager, query on the following words in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
