Print Preview Displays Partial Page If Height Greater Than 14"

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word for Windows, if a page is 14 inches or longer, it does not display completely in print preview. The bottom of the page is not displayed. The page prints correctly.

The page displays correctly when you choose the Zoom Page Width button. This problem does not occur in versions 1.0, 1.1, or 1.1a of Word for Windows.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Word for Windows listed above. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. In Word for Windows, open the PRINTERS.DOC file.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Page Setup. Select the Size And Orientation option button.

  3. In the Height box, select a value between 15" and 22", then choose the OK button.

  4. From the File menu, choose Print Preview.

Only the top portion of the document is displayed.
