SUMMARYWhen you use the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet HPDSKJET.DRV printer driver (which is supplied with Microsoft Windows operating system version 3.1) to print from Microsoft Word for Windows, paper will not feed from the DeskJet paper bin if the printer driver settings differ from the following:
Paper Size: Letter 8.5 x 11 Paper Source: Auto Sheet FeederThis situation occurs regardless of the bin option settings you select in Word for Windows (when you choose Page Setup from the Format menu). Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in versions 2.0, 2.0a, 2.0a-CD, 2.0b, 6.0 of Word for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONIf the printer driver settings differ from those listed above, the rollers on the printer will spin, but the printer will not pick up paper from the tray. The rollers eventually stop spinning and the printer stops, but the ready light is turned off. You may receive a the following Windows error message:
Printer not readyWord for Windows is designed to override the printer driver settings, so printing should be directed by the settings in the Page Setup dialog box.
