WD: MacWord Setup Does Not Replace Dictionary or Glossary FilesLast reviewed: February 6, 1998Article ID: Q91653 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSThe Installer program for Word for the Macintosh does not replace pre- existing Custom Dictionary or Standard Glossary files, even if you click the Replace All option when prompted by Installer. This is true even if you created your Custom Dictionary and Standard Glossary files in an earlier version of Word for the Macintosh.
WORKAROUNDIf you want to replace your existing Custom Dictionary and Standard Glossary files, delete or move them from the Install folder prior to running the Installer program for Word.
MORE INFORMATIONIf the Installer program finds a Custom Dictionary and Standard Glossary file in your Install folder, it does not copy these files from the Word disks. Installer only copies these files from disk if it does not find an existing copy in your Install folder. This behavior is by design. Note: The Installer program asks you to define the Install folder at the beginning of installation.
