  1. The word "accommodate" is misspelled as "accomodate" in the LETBLOCK, LETMDSEM, LETMODBK, and LETPERSN letter templates supplied with Word for Windows. The misspelling occurs in the Set Letter Header dialog box.

  2. The spelling checker does not flag "continuos" as a misspelled word because it is a valid plural form of the word "continuo". Webster's Ninth Collegiate Dictionary defines this word as follows:

A bass part (as for a keyboard or stringed instrument) used esp. in baroque ensemble music and consisting of a succession of bass notes with figures that indicate the required chords--called also figured bass, thoroughbass.

If you sometimes mistype "continuous" as "continuos" and want the spelling checker to flag "continuos" as incorrect, add "continuos" to an exclude dictionary. For instructions on creating and using an exclude dictionary, refer to page 90 of the "Microsoft Word for Windows User's Guide" or query "exclude dictionary" in Word Help.

Word Versions 1.0 and 1.1

"Stymieing" is misspelled as "stymying" in the Word thesaurus.

Word Version 1.1a

The word "recommited" is misspelled in the main spelling dictionary. When you check the spelling of the word "recommitted," Word version 1.1a incorrectly suggests "recommited."

Word Versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.1a
