RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use either of the following methods:

  • Disable SoftRam. To disable SoftRam, follow these steps:

    1. Use any text editor (such as Notepad) to open the System.ini file

          in the Windows folder.

    2. Disable the following lines in the [386Enh] section of the

          System.ini file. To disable these lines, place a semicolon (;) at
          the beginning of each line:

             Device=C:\Softram\softram1.386
             Device=C:\Softram\softram2.386

       3. Save and then close the System.ini file.

       4. Use the right mouse button to click an empty area on the taskbar,
          and then click Properties on the menu that appears.

       5. On the Start Menu Programs tab, click Remove.

       6. Double-click the Startup folder, click the SoftRam icon in the
          Startup folder, and then click Remove.

          NOTE: Do not remove the SoftRam folder (which is listed above the
          Startup folder) by mistake. Make sure to remove the SoftRam icon in
          the Startup folder.

       7. Click Close, and then click OK.
