LaserWriter Pro Doesn't Recognize Envelope Feeder

SUMMARY

Installing an optional envelope feeder on the LaserWriter Pro family of printers requires that the printer be reset (turned off and back on) for printer to recognize that the envelope feeder is installed.

If the printer is not restarted after installing the envelope feeder, the feeder will be inoperable and you will not be able to select it in the Print dialog box. This is different from the HP LaserJet 4 series of printers that automatically identify that the envelope feeder is installed.

The following is a list of Apple LaserWriter printers to which this situation applies:

   LaserWriter Pro 600
   LaserWriter Pro 630
   LaserWriter Pro 810
   LaserWriter Pro 16/600
