SUMMARY

According to Hewlett-Packard (HP) Product Support for the DeskJet, the following table shows the non-printing areas for the DeskJet 500c and 550c printers. Note that these areas change significantly depending on which print mode you are using. For example, in Color/Composite Black mode, the whole print job shifts .25 inch up the page in portrait orientation and .25 inch to the right in landscape orientation.

Another method is to: 1. Open Write, 2. Choose the Document menu, 3. Select Page Layout, 4. Enter a zero (0) in each margin setting box, 4. Click OK. A prompt will appear displaying the message, "Current printer cannot print outside these margins," followed by the correct settings for each margin.
