The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Word for the Macintosh versions 6.0 and later do not ship with a converter to import Claris MacWrite files.
RESOLUTIONTo open MacWrite files in Word 6.0 and later, use either of the following methods.
Method 1Save the MacWrite file in the Text Only format while in MacWrite. Note that formatting applied to the text is lost; however, this is the only format that MacWrite can export besides the MacWrite format.
Method 2Use a third-party utility or service bureau to convert the MacWrite files. Listed below are vendors manufacturing conversion programs that convert MacWrite format files.
