This chapter begins with a discussion of interoperating with Windows 3.x, and it describes what does and does not get migrated upon upgrading to Windows NT Workstation 4.0. After this comes a discussion of the compatibility of the 16-bit Windows subsystem with Windows 3.x applications and the restrictions on applications running under it. This chapter also explains in detail how the 16-bit Windows subsystem is implemented.
Next, the chapter describes compatibility with Windows NT 3.51.
