Coordinate System

RasDD uses a single, common horizontal and vertical (X, Y) coordinate system. The units in this coordinate system are called master units. Master units are the least common multiple of the various horizontal and vertical resolutions supported by the printer. RasDD can add, multiply, or divide a value by the specified master units to calculate the arguments for printer commands that use these coordinates.

Note  Many of the Units options that appear next to specified values are not in use at this time and do not require entries.

In cases where the master units are required, a special Units dialog box is provided for each printer command to specify how to convert from master units to the relevant printer units. For example, if the master units are 432 units/inch and the printer opens at 144 dpi, the master units must be divided by three to obtain the appropriate values for the printer.
