Chapter 2, "Locating Network Resources," provides information about using a Microsoft Domain Name System (DNS) server to connect to the Internet and to identify your IIS sites for remote users.
Chapter 3, "Adding Bandwidth for Internet Connectivity," introduces the new Internet telecommunications infrastructure, describes how to estimate your network's bandwidth requirements, and explains how to evaluate different options for providing an IIS connection to the Internet.
Chapter 4, "Using ISDN," discusses how Windows NT Server provides built-in support for Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), a high-speed, fully digital telephone service you can use to connect to the Internet.
Chapter 5, "Monitoring Virtual Memory," describes how Internet Information Server uses the Windows NT virtual memory system and suggests techniques for determining whether your server has enough physical memory to operate efficiently.
Chapter 6, "Preventing Processor Bottlenecks," discusses some common causes of computer processor overload and several monitoring methods to avoid bottlenecks.
Chapter 7, "Monitoring Bandwidth and Network Capacity," examines bandwidth and network capacity on an Internet Information Server and suggests methods to measure and improve transmission rates and connection handling.
Chapter 8, "Effects of IIS Security Features on Performance," describes techniques to measure the performance overhead required by security features and ways to accommodate security requirements without impairing server performance.
Chapter 9, "Monitoring Dynamic Page Generation," covers techniques for monitoring the Common Gateway Interface (CGI) and Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI), which are used to generate dynamic Web pages on Internet Information Server.
Chapter 10, "Additional Network Services: Enterprise Level," describes the business reasons for selecting Directory Service Manager for NetWare and Web Administration for Windows NT Server at the fictitious Terra Flora Corporation, described in Windows NT Server Resource Kit: Windows NT Server Networking Guide.
