3.1 Directory and File Structures

No FFS data structures are compressed. This means that the Block Allocation Structure, boot record, and DirEntry, FileEntry, and FileInfo structures, are not compressed. Compression is applied only to file data. Compression need not be applied to all files, or extents within a file, in a partition.
