Complete and sign the "BackOffice HTL Testing Agreement" and "Logo License Agreement"
Complete and sign both agreements. You can get these agreements by calling the fax-back number 425-635-2222 and entering document numbers 850-852. These agreements only need to be executed once per company, except for Exhibits.
Complete the Information Form
Complete the attached Information Form. If you have questions filling out this form, you may contact BackOffice HTL by sending e-mail to "BOHTL@microsoft.com".
Assemble the following "Test Package"
The following items must all be included for the test process to begin. Please do not ship any partial packages.
One production level system, for each processor speed.
System will remain at BackOffice Hardware Testing Lab. During this time, the system will be used within different Microsoft test labs, to help ensure your system works with future releases of BackOffice. The system may be returned at any time upon request, but the system manufacturer must provide shipping carton.
Any unusual or specialized hardware required for us to test your system, e.g. connectors for external raid cabinets
Passing Windows NT™ HCT log files results included on diskette.
This document, titled "Step by Step Instructions".
Completed "Information Form".
Completed and signed "BackOffice HTL Testing Agreement" and "Logo License Agreement".

Verify System Information Form is filled out completely.
Verify the system is free of viruses.
Run the current Windows NT™ Hardware Compatibility Tests.
To make sure you have the current test kit, email NTHCTEXT@microsoft.com
Verify IDE/Floppy connectors are keyed as to not allow the user to plug in these devices incorrectly.
Verify all expansion slots are accessible. (Not blocked by some other device)
Verify the external ports are labeled identifying what they are.
FOLLOW THESE TIPS - this will prevent most common system failures
Make sure you contact your BIOS manufacturer and get the most recent BIOS on your system.
Make sure connector icons are on the system.
Send the system which you pre-tested, not a different one.
Make sure all motherboard devices have Windows NT drivers. All third party Windows NT drivers must come on floppy disk.
