Always Keep Files Checked Out

When you select this option, the file is checked out to your working folder. The file is copied to the VSS database, but left checked out to the user, so the database is updated with changes. You can continue working on the file.

Note   This option is not recommended for team programming environments.

To always keep files checked out:

1. On the VSS Explorer Tools menu, click Options to display the SourceSafe Options dialog box.
   
   
2. Click the General tab, if it isn't already selected.
   
   
3. Select the Always Keep Files Checked Out check box.
   
   
4. Click OK.
