Enable Source Control Dialog Box (Data View)

See Also      Tasks

Use this dialog box to enable source control for stored procedures in the Data View window. This dialog box identifies the Microsoft® Visual SourceSafe™ project you want to associate with the stored procedures in a particular database. For more information on using source control with stored procedures, see Adding a Stored Procedure to Source Control in Data View.

This dialog box is displayed when you right-click a data connection that's not already under source control in the Data View window, and then choose the Add to Source Control command.

Options

Source control database location

Enter the location of your source control database. This location is relative to the location of the SQL Server database whose stored procedures you're putting under source control.

Source control project name

Type an identifier for the Visual SourceSafe project. A Visual SourceSafe project is a collection of files (in this case, stored procedure files) stored in Visual SourceSafe and is set up automatically when you use this dialog box.

If Microsoft® Visual InterDev™ is unable to place a data connection under source control, contact your system administrator to verify your permissions on the database server or verify that Visual SourceSafe has been installed on the database server.

To enable source control, the database must be on a SQL Server that also has Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 5.0 or later installed.
