1.1.1 Goals

The major goals of the VoiceView protocol are:

• To temporarily establish a data connection during a voice call with another party, to quickly exchange information with that party, and then to immediately return to the voice mode for continued discussion.
• To enhance automated voice transactions with an automated response system, such as a voice mail system or voice response unit.
