CONFIGMG_Get_Private_DWord

CONFIGRET CONFIGMG_Get_Private_DWord(PFARULONG pulPrivate, DEVNODE dnInDevNode, DEVNODE dnForDevNode, ULONG ulFlags)

Retrieves the private value a device node has in another device node.

• Returns CR_SUCCESS if the function is successful. Otherwise, the return value can be CR_INVALID_DEVNODE, CR_INVALID_FLAG or CR_INVALID_POINTER.

pulPrivate

Address that receives the private value.

dnInDevNode

Handle of the device node in which the private value will be stored.

dnForDevNode

Handle of the device node that will use this information. This device node must be either the same as dnInDevNode or an ancestor of dnInDevNode.

ulFlags

Must be zero.

Neither dnInDevNode nor dnForDevNode may specify the root of the hardware tree.

This function is typically used by an enumerator to retrieve information that was cached in a one of their children's device nodes using the CONFIGMG_Set_Private_DWord function. The private double-word value is typically a pointer to a structure.

Note that the device node specified by the dnForDevNode parameter is responsible for cleaning up when the device node is removed.
