Introduction

The Microsoft® Windows® mouse driver is a dynamic-link library (DLL) that Windows uses to detect, enable and retrieve information about the mouse. This chapter describes the mouse-driver functions.

Note that a Windows mouse driver is required only for backward compatibility with Windows version 3.x utilities.
