Image Color Matching (ICM) is Microsoft's implementation of device-independent color management support, as defined by the International Color Consortium (ICC).
ICM makes it possible to accurately display and print colors regardless of the devices being used. ICM relies upon ICC-standard device profiles that:
When ICM support is enabled in the Image Edit control, Imaging uses color management profiles when displaying or printing an image document so the output devices display or print the colors of the image document as accurately and consistently as possible.
Note: ICM is available with Imaging for Windows Professional Edition V2.0, as well as with Imaging for Windows 98.
