What is OCR?

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a technology that recognizes binary images of character shapes as text characters, and then outputs them to a computer file as a fully editable document.

The Image OCR control enables you to add OCR functions to your image-enabled applications.  If implemented in your program, end users can output image documents in a variety of output types (formats).

Note: OCR processing is available with Imaging for Windows Professional Edition V1.0, V1.1, and V2.0 only.
