The following topics describe how to write enhancement authoring tools which use the ATVEF enhancement format. This format is supported by the Microsoft® WebTV® for Windows client shipped with Microsoft® Windows® 98 Second Edition and later.
The ATVEF format is used to enhance video broadcasts. Web files and scripts are downloaded to the clients with the video. The display of these files is synchronized with the video to create an interactive show. The primary function of an enhancement authoring tool is to create and transmit an interactive show that displays properly on broadcast clients.
