Not Using the Web Server to View ASP Pages

To view ASP pages in the browser, you need to request them from the Web server using the HTTP syntax. If you try to view them directly from the file system, the browser will either try to download the file or display the script without executing it. Other reasons for ASP pages not displaying properly are:

• Script (or execute) permissions are not set for the directory in which the pages are stored.
• The .asp extension was not used when naming the files.
