Developer Software Recommendations

For the creation of the CML application, the F & M developer environment included the following software:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later
• Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise Edition
• MDAC 2.0, which is supplied as part of the Visual Basic run-time DLLs that come with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
• Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 4
• Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0
• Microsoft Transaction Server 2.0, which comes with the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack
• Microsoft Management Console 1.0
• Microsoft SQL Server 7.0
• Microsoft Active Server Pages
• Index Server 2.0

The main new feature in the VBScript 4.0 engines in the newly released Visual Studio 6.0 is enhanced authoring and debugging support. This means that the new IntelliSense® and enhanced debugging found in Visual Interdev™ and Visual J++® is provided by the script engines.

Note  The F & M developers are interested in the newly released betas of Microsoft JScript 5.0 and Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition 5.0.
