Creating Group Accounts in Windows NT Server

After the necessary services are started, you can create groups that contain collections of the aliases for people who will administer the CML.

To create a local group and add administrators

  1. Log on as "administrator" to the Web server on which the CML application will be installed.
  2. Start the Windows NTŪ User Manager for Domains. To do this, click the Windows NT Start button. Then point to Programs and point to Administrative Tools (Common). Then click User Manager for Domains.
  3. On the User menu click Select Domain. In the resulting dialog box type the name of your server. You will now be able to review all existing local group names without competition from other domains.
  4. On the User menu click New Local Group. In the resulting dialog box provide an appropriate group name, for example "Library Admins." Optionally, type a description in the Description text box.
  5. Click Add. The Add Users and Groups dialog box is displayed.
  6. Type the domain and user name of each user with authority to administer the CML application. Use the format domain\username; for example: WebDomain\JohnSmith. Repeat until you have finished adding names of CML administrators.
  7. Click OK to close the Add Users and Groups dialog box.
  8. Click OK to close the New Local Group dialog box.
  9. Close the User Manager for Domains window.
