Searching the Library
The CML provides the following search functionality:
- Search library titles by keyword(s). Search criteria are entered in a text box on the CML Library Search Web page. A logical operator, AND or OR, and the special keyword NEAR, can be inserted between words to create complex search strings. Wildcard searching is available by appending an asterisk (*) to a search criteria. The page offers three options to direct the search: title, subject, and author.
- Focus search by media type. Five media types are available to assist in further focusing the search. The user can select any or all media types.
- Select and deselect all media. All five media types are easily selected or deselected by clicking the Select All and Deselect All buttons on the Web page.
- Sort library selection by publication date, collection, or author. After the results of a search are displayed on the Web page, the user can sort the selection by publication date, media type, or author.
- Display details about titles. Details can be displayed for any library title listed on the Web page.
- Provide search results navigation. Navigation buttons — First, Next, Previous, and Last — enable users to display different sets of five titles. The current page and total number of result pages are displayed.
