Submitting a Checkout Request
The CML provides the following functionality for checking out library materials:
- Capture the borrower's name and location. Fitch & Mather employees do not have to log on to the application. A process that captures the user's logon information is run when the user submits a request to check out a library title.
- Display user and title information. Users can display their place on the waiting list and the number of copies available for checkout before submitting a request. This allows them to judge the wait time before requesting a title.
- Submit a request to check out a title. After the title is chosen, the checkout request is easily submitted by clicking the Submit button. Before the request is submitted the user has an opportunity to provide a different user location and add a note to accompany the request.
- Receive acknowledgement of request. Users are informed of their position on the wait list.
