The table in the Data Elements and Data Stores topic lists all the data elements the LitCrit Outlook® form and the critique-enhanced Corporate Media Library (CML) application require. You will notice that some data is redundantly stored not only in the Exchange directory or information store but in SQL Server™ tables as well. This design was chosen because storing data in relational tables enhances the performance of the CML/LitCrit intranet application and supports direct queries and analysis of title rating information.
On the other hand, data elements such as the critique text, technical level rating, relevance rating, and clarity rating are not duplicated. They appear only on the CML/LitCrit application's Display Critique Web page, whereas the critique title and overall rating are added to a number of existing CML/LitCrit Web pages as well as the new Choose Critique page. Because these data elements are requested less frequently, performance would not be seriously impacted by retrieving them from the Exchange information store. An additional benefit is that critique text, stored in the information store, can contain all the features of a rich text format such as bolding, italics, and underlining.
