Designing the Compose Page
Book club members use the compose page of the LitCrit form to submit critiques. The form contains all controls listed in the "Compose page control" columns of the tables in Binding Controls to Fields. All controls are enabled and ready for the user to type in information, choose an option, or select entries from drop-down lists.
These are the controls on the LitCrit Outlook compose page:
- The Description section of the form has fields where the user enters the title and author of the book. The Title label is bold, indicating that an entry in this field is required.
- The Evaluation section of the form has four drop-down list boxes from which the user selects ratings. The entries for each list are coded into the possible values property of the control. The initial entry in each drop-down list box displays the instructive text <Select rating> and the following four entries display actual possible ratings. All controls are labeled and the label for the Overall Rating is bold to indicate that selection of an overall rating is required.
- The Critique section of the form has two text boxes, one for the title of the critique and one for the critique text.
The form's logo and a graphic depicting a book are displayed at the top of the form. The book illustration is an example of a control not bound to a field. The graphic appears on both the compose page and the read page.
