Publishing the EnhancedLitCrit Form
This procedure installs the forms required by the LitCrit public folder application. Before you can publish a form to the Organizational Forms Library, you may need to create one; for more information, see Installing the Organizational Forms Library.
To install the EnhancedLitCrit form
- Open Microsoft® Outlook®.
- Click Forms and then Design a Form on the Tools menu. The Design Form dialog box appears.
- Click User Templates in File System in the Look In drop-down list box.
- Click Browse and open the EnhancedLitCrit.oft file from the BDG distribution disk. This file is located in the Samples/LitCrit/Outlook folder. Click OK.
- Select EnhancedLitCrit and click Open.
- In the Select Folder dialog box, accept the default folder (Inbox) and click OK.
- Click Disable Macros, if prompted. A form with subject "<untitled>" appears.
- Click Forms, then Publish Form As on the Tools menu. The Publish Form As dialog box appears.
- Click Organizational Forms Library in the Look In drop-down list box. Type EnhancedLitCrit in the Display name text box. Click Publish.
- Click No when prompted to clear the "Save Form Definition with Item" check box warning message.
- Close the form design window by clicking Close in the upper-right corner, or by clicking Close on the File menu. Do not save changes.
- Repeat steps 1 through 11 for the ToApprover form. In step 4 select the ToApprover.oft file located in the Samples/LitCrit/Outlook folder. In steps 8 and 9, publish the form with the name ToApprover. Optionally, you can also publish the BasicLitCrit form for comparison with the later version.
After you have installed the forms, they can be used by Microsoft Outlook to create new items in the LitCrit public folder. However, the ToApprover form is intended for use by the application, not for ad hoc use. The next procedure prevents the form from being displayed in the Organization Forms Library.
To hide the ToApprover form
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Click Options on the Tools menu. The Options dialog box appears.
- Click the Others tab, and click Advanced Options.
- Click Custom Forms. A second Options dialog box consisting of a Custom Forms tab appears.
- Click Manage Forms. The Forms Manager dialog box appears.
- Select the ToApprover form from the Organizational Forms Library in the left pane list box. (You may need to click Set and select the Organizational Forms Library from the Forms Library drop-down list box.)
- Click Properties. The Form Properties dialog box appears.
- Select the Hidden check box and click OK.
- Close the remaining dialog boxes.
Shortcut You can open the Forms Manager dialog box with fewer steps from the Properties dialog box of any folder. Simply right-click a folder (such as the Inbox), click Properties, and then click the Forms tab on the resulting dialog box. The Manage button will open the same Forms Manager dialog box used in the preceding procedure. Resume from step 6.
