Enabling Event Service Scripting

An administrator must enable Event Service scripting before an agent can be used programmatically. This action also makes the Agents tab visible to anyone (with Owner permissions on the folder) who opens the monitored folder in Microsoft Outlook.

To enable Event Service events

1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
2. Click the LitCrit public folder.
3. Click Options on the Tools menu.
4. Click the Other tab.
5. Under General, click Advanced Options.
6. On the Advanced Options page, click Add-In Manager.
7. In the Add-In Manager dialog box, select the Server Scripting check box. (If Server Scripting does not appear in the list, do the following: Click Install, select SCRPTXTN.ECF from the Install Extension dialog box, and click Open to install it.)
8. Click OK to close the Add-In Manager dialog box.
9. Click OK to close the Advanced Options page.
10. Click OK to close the Options page.

Now a person with sufficient permissions (see Granting Permission for Working with Agents) can create an agent, using the Agents dialog box. See Opening the Script Window.
