Creating a Microsoft Exchange Server Profile
After you have created a mailbox for the Microsoft Exchange Event Service service account, you will need to create a Microsoft Outlook profile to access that mailbox. This procedure describes how to create a profile.
To create a Microsoft Exchange e-mail profile
- Close Microsoft Outlook before proceeding.
- Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. Double-click the Mail icon.
- Click Show Profiles.
- Click Add. The Microsoft Outlook Setup Wizard appears.
- In the Microsoft Outlook Setup Wizard dialog box, click Manually configure information services. Click Next.
- Type a name for the profile in the Profile Name text box. Click Next.
- In the Properties dialog box, click Add.
- In the Add Service to Profile dialog box, select Microsoft Exchange Server from the Available information services list box. Click OK.
- Type the name of the Microsoft Exchange Server. In the Mailbox text box, type the name of the agent service mailbox you created in the "To create a Microsoft Exchange Server user account" procedure.
- Click Check Name to resolve the name in the Microsoft Exchange Server directory. Click OK.
- Click OK in the Properties dialog box.
- Click Finish in the Microsoft Outlook Setup Wizard.
- Click Close in the Mail dialog box.
You can use this profile the next time you start Microsoft Outlook. If the Choose Profile dialog box appears when you start Outlook, choose the newly created profile from the Profile Name drop-down list box, and click OK. If the Choose Profile dialog box does not appear, follow the steps in the next procedure.
To invoke the newly created profile
- Start Microsoft Outlook.
- From the Tools menu bar select Options and click the Mail Services tab.
- Under Startup Settings select Prompt for a profile to be used. Click OK.
- Close and restart Outlook. The Choose Profile dialog box should appear.
