Changes to the Original LitCrit Application
The original LitCrit application created by the Fitch & Mather book club already provides basic review functionality: It offers the LitCrit Outlook form's compose page for posting critiques to the LitCrit public folder where book club members can view them using the LitCrit form's read page. The LitCrit Application in Stand-Alone Operation describes the book club's Outlook application on which the enhanced LitCrit application is built.
New Features of the Enhanced LitCrit Application
The enhanced LitCrit application needs to support these new features:
- Sharing critiques with the CML. Because sharing a critique with the CML application is optional, the LitCrit application needs a way for users to state whether a critique should be made available to the CML. When a user chooses to share, the LitCrit application displays a form for searching the library and selecting a title.
- Validating data. To ensure consistent content across the two applications, entries in certain fields are now required.
- Providing an optional approval process. Administrators decided an approval process is needed and they also want the ability to set a switch that turns the process off and on.
- Choosing a media type. The original version of the LitCrit application is oriented toward book reviews; because the CML offers five different media types users now need to be able to select the media type of the title being reviewed.
