Adding New System Elements
Critique functionality requires additional parameters to customize the way the critique-enhanced CML and the LitCrit Outlook application work; the administrative staff must be able to add and change these parameter values. Administrators want to manage all settings for the application in one place, the CML's Application Settings Web page. This page now needs additional fields to provide a way to input the following information:
- The value of the switch that determines whether approval is required. When the value is True, a critique made available to the CML is not posted for general viewing until approved by the designated person.
- The e-mail alias of the person who will approve critiques when the approval process is in effect. The previous version of the CML already retrieves the domain name, which produces a complete e-mail address when combined with the alias of the approver.
- The default value for the number of entries the enhanced LitCrit application will display as a result of a library search. Because users can enter search criteria that yield a very large number of matches, the administrators want some way to control the load the enhanced LitCrit application will place on the network.
