GradeScale Table

The GradeScale table represents a collection of grades. Grouping grades into grade scales provides users with choices of grades that share a context; for example, it is not possible to rank or compare grades for an activity if one individual receives the grade Excused (a grade that applies to attendance) and another receives an A (a grade that applies to performance). This table has foreign key relationships with the Activity, ActivityType, Grade, and Group tables. The following illustration shows the column properties of the GradeScale table.

• The GradeScaleId column is the primary key for a grade scale and it is an identity column.
• The Name column contains a short name for the grade scale.
• The Description column contains an optional description of the grade scale.
