Setting Up International Versions of the PT Admin Application on Windows 2000
If you intend to use the PT Admin application in a language other than English, you must perform a number of tasks to set up the client computer environment to accept input, display UI using specific language(s), and alternate between languages. The following topics are covered in this section. How to:
- Install the required language(s on your computer.
- Update the list of user locales. The user locale relates to the conventions (date, time currency, and so forth) used in the linguistic region specified.
- Update the list of input locales. Some languages have regional variations. An input locale specifies the locale of the language that will be used as input on the keyboard and consequently the layout of the keyboard.
- Update the list of languages that the browser (Internet Explorer 5) recognizes.
- Switch between languages.
- Use the IME (Input Method Editor) to input non-Western languages.
Note No special setup is required for a server computer that is simply handling page requests from clients.
