Adding Special Characters
If your preferred input locale requires inputting special characters, such as the German umlaut, you have several options:
- Press the Alt+Number keystroke combinations that correspond to the required special characters.
- Use the Character Map in the Windows NT 4.0 Accessories menu. If not installed already, you can install it from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click the Windows NT Setup tab, double-click Accessories, and click the check box next to Character Map.
- Type the character(s) on your keyboard when in an input locale with the appropriate keyboard layout support. The keyboard layouts for many different countries can be found on http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/keyboards/keyboards.asp.
