Using the Command Line

Using the profile generator from the command line allows you to customize the options each time you run it. Use the following syntax:

Profgen <path>\Newprof.exe -P <path>\Default.prf [-S] [-X] [-L] [-U]

The following table is a list of the command-line options.

Option Description

<path>\Newprof.exe Specifies the full path to Newprof.exe.

-P <path>\Default.prf Specifies the full path to the .prf file.

-S Runs Newprof.exe with the -S option.

-X Runs Newprof.exe with the -X option.

-L Creates a log file named C:\Profgen.log.

-U Updates the MailboxName= entry in the .prf file specified with the -P option, even if it already contains a value. By default, if the entry contains a value, it is not updated.

Note The -S and -X options are added to the command line for Newprof.exe only if they are specified on the Profgen.exe command line or in the Profgen.ini file.
